At the airport you could already tick off two quick first steps in the arrivals hall: withdraw cash from an ATM and grab a Telkomsel SIM card from one of the stands. An eSIM is a great option for sorting it out before you arrive.
However, where you spend your first night in Bali depends on whether you arrive early or late and whether you plan to follow this itinerary by scooter. You have two options:
Arriving late in Bali or want to do this itinerary by scooter?
> Option 1
Stay at Denpasar/ Kuta for your first night
DAY 1: Denpasar/ Kuta

If you arrive late in the evening, need some rest after your flight, or want to do the itinerary per scooter, spend your first night next to Denpasar Airport in Kuta.
